How this grade works

This grades the HTML your server sends — it doesn’t run your site’s JavaScript, measure speed, or crawl other pages. A site built mostly in JavaScript may score lower here than it looks in a browser. Some sites behind bot protection block automated tools and can’t be graded — we won’t pretend to be a browser to get around that. It’s a quick, honest snapshot of the basics, not a full audit. When you’re ready, you can build your roofing website free.

What we check

What makes a roofing website book jobs

The grade above rewards the handful of things that turn a visitor into a phone call or a quote request. Here's what each one is — and why it matters:

A clear title and description

The title tag and meta description are what show up in Google's results. A roofing site should say what you do and where — 'Denver Roofing — Repair & Replacement' beats a bare company name — so the right homeowners click.

It works on a phone

Most people find a roofer on their phone. A mobile-responsive layout (set by a viewport tag) means the page fits the screen instead of forcing pinch-and-zoom — the fastest way to lose a lead.

A tappable phone number

The quickest path to a booked job is a phone call. A click-to-call link in the header lets a homeowner tap once to dial you, instead of copying a number by hand.

A quote or contact form

Not everyone wants to call. A short form on the page that emails you the request captures the homeowner who's ready now but browsing at 9pm — the lead a phone-only site never sees.

Trust signals: licensed, insured, reviews

Roofing is a big-ticket, trust-heavy purchase. Saying you're licensed and insured, and showing real reviews or testimonials, answers the two questions every homeowner has before they call a stranger onto their roof.

Where you work

'Serving Denver and the north metro' plus your cities and ZIP codes tells both homeowners and Google where you operate — which is how you show up for 'roofer near me' in your own area.

Secure (HTTPS) and lean

A site served over HTTPS avoids the browser's 'Not secure' warning, and a lean page loads fast. Both quietly shape whether a first-time visitor trusts you enough to reach out.
