Download a copy of everything on your site

Everything the site holds is yours, and you can take a copy at any moment without asking anyone. There is no export request, no queue and no waiting email — the file downloads while you stand there.

Download it#

1. Sign in and open your site from your dashboard.
2. Scroll to the bottom and tap "Your data — download a copy, or delete this site".
3. Tap "Download a copy of my data".

Your browser saves a file named like roofpropage-yoursite-2026-09-07.json — your site's name and the date you took it.

What is in the file#

• Every page, section by section, with all the words on it, plus your settings: business name, city, phone, the address lead alerts go to, and whether you asked for lead tips.
• Every quote request the site has ever received — name, phone, email, address, what they wrote, where it came from, the status you set (New, Called, Quoted, Won, Lost) and your private notes, each with the date it arrived.
• Your previous versions — the earlier copies of your site kept behind "Previous versions", with what caused each one and when.
• Your web address and its status, if you have one with us.
• A summary of your plan — enough to see what you are on, not your card details, which only Stripe ever holds.

The file lists the web address of every photo rather than the picture files themselves. Opening a link saves that photo. It is worth doing before you delete a site, because those links stop working once the site is gone.

Reading it#

The file is JSON — a plain text format that is a bit dense to read but that any developer, spreadsheet tool or website builder can import. You do not need to understand it. What matters is that it is a complete, portable copy: hand it to whoever builds your next website, or keep it as a backup, and nothing you have written is locked up here.

If it will not download#

Downloading the same site over and over in a couple of minutes pauses briefly — one click reads every row your site owns, so there is a sensible limit on it. Wait a few minutes and try again. If the download fails, the page brings you back with a short message rather than saving a broken file, so a saved file is always a complete one.
