Get a web address from us (included in your plan)

Your own .com is part of the $49/mo. Search for a name in your dashboard, tap "Set it up", and we register it and point it at your site.

A web address of your own — like joesroofing.com — is included in the $49/mo. No extra charge, no separate bill. You don't need it to launch: the moment you go live your site is up on a free roofpropage.com address, and it stays there while we set up your own name.

Ask for one from your dashboard#

  1. Publish first. Your site needs to be live on the plan before we can register a name for you. You can still search on a draft site, but when you tap "Set it up" you'll see "Publish your site first — your domain is included once you're on a plan." See Go live.
  2. Open your dashboard and tap "Edit" on your site.
  3. Tap the "Settings" tab and scroll to the "Custom domain" card. (The "Connect a custom domain" step under the "Next steps" button jumps there too; on a desktop, so does the "Connect your domain" link in the preview's address bar.)
  4. Under "Find a domain", type the name you want — just the name, like joesroofing — and tap "Search".
  5. We check that name as .com, .net, .org and .co. Each result shows "Set it up" (free to take), "Taken", or "Couldn't check — try again".
  6. Tap "Set it up" on the one you want. That's it — there is nothing to paste and no price to pay.

What happens next#

The card shows "Setting up" (or goes straight to "Connected") — this usually takes under a minute, and you can leave the page. When it flips to "Connected", the card reads "Your site is live at" your new address. If you've closed the page before it finishes, our daily check picks it up and emails you "Your domain is live" when it's done. From then on, anyone who types the old roofpropage.com address is sent straight to your new one. Your site also answers at www.yourname.com, which forwards to the plain name.

Who owns it#

You do. While you're a customer, the name sits in our registrar account so we can renew it for you each year — we email you before it renews. Want to move it to your own registrar? Tap "Transfer this domain out" on the card and we hand you its transfer code, free. The one catch is the registry's rule, not ours: a brand-new name is locked for its first 60 days, so a transfer can only start after that.

Still stuck? Email support@roofpropage.com and a real person will get back to you.
